Its international women day today. Hooray!
Hello everybody, Happy innternational Women’s Day!
For International Women’s Day I am watching feminist movies and only listening to music by women. I’m reading Journey to Jo’burg – written by a woman (Beverly Naidoo) and stars a brave Black girl and boy. I’m also reading We should all be feminists – by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and is a speech the author made.
On international women’s day many people go on strike. They also live tweet which is what my mum is doing.
The video below is about how women aren’t treated equally and how they’re invisible. You can find out more at Engender Scotland.
I learned how to draw a Tardis at a workshop on Star Wars at the Edinburgh Sci Fi Con.
In February I went to the SciFi con in Edinburgh. I did a Star Wars workshop with a freelance artist called Jake. When I came home after the con I spent the night drawing lots of Star Wars pictures.
Sorry about not posting in a while, I’ve been busy.
On the 18th and 19th of February, I went to Sci-Fi Con. It wa awesome! I went as Quick Silver but only some people recognised me.
Anyway, I went to a Star Wars Art Workshop by a freelance artist called Jake. He taught us how to draw Wookies and Jaws. I drew a Jawa but I traded with the artist for his one. I kept the others I drew.
This was the Jawa I drew at the Workshop. I can’t find the Wookie I drew.
One boy in the group asked to draw a Tardis even though it was meant to be Star Wars. Jake posted our Tardis pictures on his instagram:
